
Eric Kleinertz is an experienced attorney specializing in patent and trademark prosecution, with a strong technical foundation in physics.

He provides strategic counsel to clients on all aspects of patent prosecution and is particularly skilled in developing and managing patent portfolios that align with both domestic and international business objectives. Eric also has significant experience in opinion work, including freedom-to-operate analyses, patentability assessments, invalidity opinions, and trademark clearance evaluations. Eric’s experience in intellectual property law positions him uniquely to work with small and mid-sized growing companies, offering practical, business-focused, and honest legal advice tailored to their evolving needs.

With a background in physics and industrial manufacturing, Eric has contributed to the prosecution of patents across a range of technologies, including medical devices, consumer goods and electronics, green energy, artificial intelligence, and digital therapeutics.

Eric has extensive experience in the firearm, fishing, and outdoor industries, offering in-depth knowledge of the unique challenges these markets face. He specializes in protecting intellectual property for clients in the firearm industry, as well as archery, outdoor apparel, and related fields, ensuring their innovations are safeguarded in competitive markets.

Eric earned his B.S. in Physics from New York University in 2016, where he served in an executive role within the Society of Physics Students. Before attending law school, he worked as an industrial machinery broker, collaborating with leaders in the manufacturing and aerospace sectors. His work in intellectual property began at the Brooklyn Law Incubator and Policy Clinic, a pro bono legal service organization. While at Brooklyn Law School, Eric earned a Certificate in Intellectual Property, Media & Information Law and received his J.D. in 2021.
